Honey-Do Cookies
Court asked me to make some cookies for a Honey-Do shower for a friend of hers,
and these were so fun to make!
Here's the invitation I was matching.
I made purple KitchenAid mixers and Ps...then brown wheelbarrows and Ps.
I was pretty proud of those mixers!
Of course they're different sizes, but come on now, I was free-handing these!

Back to Cookies
We're back!
But of course I had to dive right into cookie orders,
so I'll have to blog the last of our visit sometime soon.
I made cherries for a wedding shower in Virginia.
Seashells for a wedding shower in NC.
(These are the wedding colors.)
And "B"s for Mama Shirley's book club,
where they're honoring a woman at our church (Beth) who just published a book.
I'm working on some Elmos right now...those should be fun!

Latest Cookies
I'm back at the regular old, fun cookie orders.
I really enjoy the variety and creativity of the smaller, personal orders.
But the larger MED-EL orders are definitely where the money is!
So it's nice to have both.
I made 40 barns for a wedding shower for someone in New York.
I bagged them and put the farm ribbon on the bags like I did last time.
The couple is getting married in an old red barn, so that's the connection.
I know, I was wondering why would someone want barns for a wedding shower!?
I made 2 boxes of keys for a friend in DC.
She and her hubby were locked out of their apartment at 10:30 at night.
They had to call their realtor to ask for a key, and she didn't have one,
so her assistant had to drive one over at 11:30 at night. Ha!
So these are a thank you gift.
I used a yellow-gold color icing that I mixed up, then dusted them with luster dust for a gold shiny finish.
It was really fun!
These are for a friend who wanted to send some fun heels to a girlfriend in California who is going through a difficult season right now.
It was my first time to try animal print, and it was so easy and fun!
I already had brown and black icing mixed, so I used the same yellow-gold color icing from the keys to avoid having to make more icing for a small order. Next time, I would like to make a lighter brown background rather than such a yellow brown.
But it worked out really well using the icing that I already had!
And I made 8 bags of summer cookies for a lady at church to take on her family vacation.
I've made a few lingerie cookies lately, and you can find those on my cookie blog.
I am working on some brides and grooms, some 16th birthday cookies, and a twins baby shower with a nautical theme. The variety is so fun!

MED-EL Paint Splatter Cookies
MED-EL is releasing 7 new colors of the Opus 2 processor,
in addition to the 5 we already have.
The international office (Austria) created marketing materials that have paint splatters in the new colors.
So they asked me to make paint splatter cookies in the 7 new colors,
and to try to make the splatters look like the ones in the corresponding color.
You'll see what I mean...
Here's an up close pic of the discoloration that happened in the freezer.
The brown ones are the worst, because they're the darkest color.
The brown one in the picture happened to be the only one that wasn't discolored,
so I snagged it for the pics.

MED-ELephant Packaging
Here's the finished product.
I wasn't able to do the embellishments (eye and ear) on all of them;
they wouldn't have been dry in time.
I didn't want to start icing them too early so that they'd still be fresh.
A co-worker designed the labels, and I love them!
(I will ask for them to be horizontal next time.)
I'm off to the conference tomorrow, and Nick gets to go with me!
We are so looking forward to a few days away.
We're also looking forward to seeing Wicked at the Kennedy Center,
which is sort-of a part of the conference.
Grandad and Me are here to take care of our children.
I'm sure they'll really be missing us.
(Or not at all.)
A Herd of Elephants
I finished the 1000 elephants last night!
My dad learned how to pipe the icing around dinnertime and helped me through the last 300.
So thankful.
My hand was about to fall off.
I don't think I'll be voting Republican for many years.
Hee.
We are packaging them today and will take them with us to the conference tomorrow.
Tool Cookies
A very sweet friend of ours is installing our hardwood floors for us,
and I made these as a small thank you gift.

He is doing an amazing job on our floors.
I am so in love with them!

High Heel Cookies
A dear friend ordered these high heel cookies for her Bunco Night, and they are so fun.
The cookies are really fragile due to the crazy shape; they're so narrow in the middle.
In real life, the blue heel matches the napkin perfectly; it was amazing how easy it was to match.
Not sure why it looks totally different on camera?
And I just love the napkin!

LLS Cookies
An old friend from PCM back in the day contacted me to make some blood drop
cookies to match the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society logo.
She works there and wanted them as gifts to honor some patients.

Tennis Cookies
A friend of a friend ordered some tennis cookies for a lady's birthday party at the tennis club.
I wasn't so sure how these would turn out, but they were fun!
The cutter that I have is a terrible one, and it's very thin and doesn't allow for cutting a thicker cookie,
so next time I would cut my own template, but these worked fine for just two dozen.
It's crazy that I've been doing quite a few orders for people I don't know!

Baby Girl Shower
I made 40 favor bags for a shower that a co-worker is giving.
She sent me pics of the plates and napkins and they're below (in really bad quality).
