They gave us their GPS, which had our destination programmed into it, so it was a true surprise! We headed downtown, and found ourselves at Mo's Diner, which is a nice restaurant set in an old house near Moore Square. We loved it! The restaurant is composed of a few smaller rooms in the house, and we actually ended up having a whole room to ourselves!
The Thums gave us a kind card, a very generous gift certificate, and a stack of thoughtful questions to ask each other over dinner. We had fun laughing about memories from when we were dating, dreaming about the future, talking about our children, and affirming one another. It was perfect.
We asked our waiter to take a picture. He struggled.
Nick's dessert was so crazy-looking!He ordered raspberry and mango sorbet, and it came filled with lots of fresh fruit too.
It was awesome.
(You know me, of course I ordered dessert.I had a berry cobbler-type of dessert, but didn't take a picture of it.)
But while we were having our romantic date, the boys were having the time of their lives with Chris and Marie. Chris and the boys built a fort in the woods. And if that wasn't fun enough, he had them "bob" for Edy's ice cream Dibs in the swimming pool! Ha! Does it get any better than that? They were up past their bedtime, and I loved that they were having too much fun to put them to bed. They read to them, prayed with them, and said Hudson was asleep before they walked out of the room. So awesome.
Thank you so, so much for the precious memories, your thoughtfulness and kind generosity.
We are blessed to walk alongside you and bear burdens with you.
You are loved by the Roarks.
