Happy 2nd Birthday, Emmaline!

Today was Emmaline's birthday!

She woke up to the traditionally decorated table...

BUT I'm not so sure she was ready to face the day just yet.

Nick took her on a Daddy Date to Jubala for coffee and waffles.
They both got "dressed up" (even on his day off) and had a sweet time together.

I told you she wasn't ready for all of the excitement!

He gave her the present she wanted most: gum.
Every time we'd ask her what she wanted for her birthday, she'd say "gums."
When they got home, we had her "real" presents waiting for her.
I found this doll table at Target on clearance for $15, marked down from $90!

Hudson helped me get it all set up with lots of dolls (too many, of course!)
and we had her walk into her room...

She got some doll clothes and a doll potty (for potty training) from Grandad and Me.
We got it while they were here in June, so I tucked it away for today.

She went right to playing, and played there until everyone eventually went to play outside.
She really loves it, and it is so precious to watch her 'mother' those baby dolls.

We had a regular day, where Nick worked outside and I went to a meeting at the office, then had a hair appointment...we had dinner and then Skyped with Grandad, Me, Leighton and Grandfather & Grandmother.  They sang with us and watched her blow out her candle.

She was cracking us up with the way she ate this apple...and she ate the whole thing.

Happy birthday to you, sweet girl!

Thank you, Steve Jobs for making this possible!

We are excited for her party on Saturday!
Even if Irene comes, we'll still enjoy ice cream inside...it's more fun to weather the storm together!
