The Mother's Day Interviews

I filmed these for Allison as a part of her Mother's Day surprises. It's only taken me about a week to actually blog them. Enjoy!

N: How old is Mommy?

E. 22.

N: What's Mommy's favorite thing to eat?

E: Chicken pizza.

N: What did we have for dinner?

E: Chicken pizza

N: How tall is Mommy?

E: (Using his hands.) This tall.

N: What's your favorite thing about Mommy? (Emmaline is saying 'rock, rock, rock' in the background.)

E: That she's beautiful.

N: What do you like about Mommy?
E: That she's pretty and beautiful.

N: Elijah, where's Mommy from?

E: Nana C and Papa's house.

N: How did Mommy and Daddy meet?
E: At church.

N: Elijah, where did Mommy go to college?

E: Uhhh... I don't really know.

N: You don't know? I'll give you some choices: did she go to Byrd High School or Baylor or Tennessee?

E: Baylor!

N: Does Mommy like to drink coffee?

E: Ummm... no.

N: No. She doesn't.

N: What does Mommy like to...

E: Tea!

N: She likes to drink tea? Unsweet tea or sweet tea?

E: Sweet tea.

N: Do you think Mommy looks alot like Emmaline?

E: A little bit. A little bit.

N: Hey Emmaline, come give Mommy a kiss.

N: Is Mommy a good Mommy?

E: (Nods)

N: What makes Mommy a good Mommy?

E: That she is... she makes really good stuff and she is... umm... she is really good.

E: (Gnawing on his kneecap.)

N: If you could tell Mommy anything right now, what would you tell her?

E: I could like... I could like... I could like tell her anything? OK... she's beautiful... and she's precious... and she's almost like Emmaline.

N: She's almost like Emmaline.

E: Remember on the pictures of Mommy. (E is referring to these.)

N: Thank you Elijah!

E: You're welcome.

N: OK, Hudson, first question: How old to you think Mommy is?

H: (Petrified) Dad, I can't understand.

N: You don't understand?

H: No.

N: OK. How old are you?

H: Three.

N: OK, how old is Mommy?

H: Dad, uhhhh (petrified again).

N: OK, I'll give you a choice. Is Mommy 33, 53, 73?

H: 73.

N: She's 73? OK. Where did Mommy go to college?

H: At Providence.

N: What Mommy's favorite thing to eat?

H: Pizza.

N: What did we have for dinner tonight?

N: What's Mommy's favorite thing to do?

H: Bake some cookies

N: Baking cookies? OK.

N: What does Mommy do all day?

H: Makes cookies and goes to Providence.

N: She makes cookies and goes to Providence?

N: If you could give Mommy some words, what would you say?

H: I love you.

N: What else?

H: Uhhhh... That she is spectacular.

N: Can you come give her a kiss on the camera?

H: (kiss)

N: Thanks Hudson!

H: You're the best Mommy in the world.

N: Thanks Hud.

H: You're welcome.

Dear Allison,

We love you. O, how we love you! Let us count the ways. You are far more than just a praiseworthy wife and Mommy and friend. You are far more than just a Patient Support Specialist for a cochlear implant manufacturer and a gourmet cookie chef and a budding entrepreneur. You are far more than just a housekeeper, and cook, and van driver, and housemaid, and event planner, and administrative assistant, and interior designer, and nutritionist, and coupon queen, and staff nurse, and janitor, and theologian, and facilities manager, and counselor, and coach. We love you for all these things but you are far more than all of these things. We love you not simply because of what you do but also because of who you are. We love YOU.
