This morning, Dad and I went to church while mom kept the boys at home. I knew Elijah wouldn't be crazy about a nursery class that he'd never been to before...but mostly, I knew he wouldn't leave Grandmom for one second. They played outside, colored, and played with Lincoln Logs while we were gone. Then we headed to my grandparents for lunch, as we've done for my entire life. Chip and his girls were there, and we enjoyed watching them play with the boys from a swing in the shade. After naps, we made breakfast for dinner, and enjoyed some Chattanooga pancakes (Thanks, Nana C and Papa!). Grandfather and Grandmother came over again on their way to night church and ate with us. It's been such a blessing to see them so often.
After dinner, Grandad built a fire and taught the boys how to make s'mores! There's an area by the ivy-covered wall that Dad's cleared to build a little pavillion for the grill and a swing, and that's where he built the fire. It was a great spot...and a great idea!
Then they checked out a caterpillar and played outside until mean old mommy made them come in for baths and bedtime. We found a huge tub of books in a closet from the Layton girls, so we took turns reading to Elijah for an hour before bed. You know he loved that.
Tomorrow is our last full day, and on Tuesday, we'll head to Dallas to catch our evening flight. We've had such an incredible visit...I can't believe it's almost over.
If you've read all of these silly details about our trip every day, you're a dedicated blog-friend! Of course all of this commentary is for Nick, and all of the pictures are too. Sorry for all of the boring details. We miss you, Daddy!

(Notice the white foam board in the fireplace. It's also in front of the stairs. What a great idea to keep Hudson out. We should do that at home!)
